Nudity in public places is actually illegal in Jamaica, and as a result, most of the clothing optional beaches are on private property. There are a few public accessible beaches where topless is generally accepted, but spots for fully nude public sunbathing are scarce. There are several good resort options for vacationers who prefer to tan au naturel. Interestingly, Jamaica as an island is reputed to have the most nude beaches in the Caribbean. A statement which is true, when factoring the private resorts with private beaches.
Couples has four resorts across the island; Couples Tower Isles and Couples Sans Souci both in Ocho Rios and Couples Swept Away and Couples Negril, both in Negril. All but one of their resorts, Couples Swept Away, offer a clothing optional section. Designed for couples, there are no kids and no singles.
This is one of the island's first resorts and a former playground for 1950s Hollywood A-listers. The nude section is a small island about a one-minute boat ride away from the mainland. It's a cool little spot, with a small pool, a little bit of beach, and a swim-up bar -- but guests must be willing to bare it all to experience it. The island's policy is not "clothing optional" but rather "clothing prohibited."
The larger beach is a nude beach from morning till evening. The policy here is also clothing prohibited, and not just optional. There is also a private pool, jucuzzi, swim up bar, and buffet every day.
Less risqué, than other adult-only resorts in Negril, but it does provide a separate nude beach. The area has its own hot tub, and is somewhat separated from the rest of the property.
Located next to Hedonism II, this Breezes resort has an expansive clothing-optional beach (with its own hot tub, bar, and grill). The clothed beach is one of the best strips of sand in Negril. The resort appeals to a more upscale crowd, quite different Hedonism II. Low-rise rooms, both oceanfront and garden suites, are stylish; many have French doors just steps from the sand. A renovated lobby and Greek restauarant top the list of recent changes to this quiet and relaxing resort.
Hideaway at Royalton Negril, a new addition to the Negril scene, provides an adults-only vacation.
The Hedonism II is the most famous clothing optional resort in the Caribbean. People travel from far and wide to live out their fantasies and escape all inhibition. Located on a private section of Negril's Seven Mile Beach, this adults-only resort encourages guests to explore and indulge their wild side. There two private beaches (only one of which is nude); unisex saunas and steam rooms; three pools, including a nude pool and five bars.
Guests have the option of choosing rooms in either a nude section or a clothed wing. In addition to all the provocative fun, guests can indulge in all sorts of activities, including tennis, miniature golf, snorkeling, kayaking and water skiing; there's even a rock-climbing wall.
Grand Lido is an oceanfront boutique resort for guests over the age of 21, offering an all-inclusive clothing-optional vacation. Geared towards creating a naturist resort atmosphere for singles and couples alike desiring a liberating holiday experience.
